There are a few steps for solar installation:
1. Schedule a contractor to do an inspection - The contractor will check the electrical system. If your electrical
system is old and incompatible, you will need to get it replaced or upgraded. The contractor will also inspect
your roof, to make sure it is structurally stable and can support the weight of the solar panels. If your roof
is flat, you will need a mounting system.
2. Issue the right permits - You will need a permit to make sure your solar system installation meets safety
standards, and zoning requirements. The contractor will issue the permit on your behalf, and will only need to sign a
bit of paperwork.
3. Ordering the solar system - Once you have the permit, and you choose the type of solar panels you want and is
those that are best for your home, your contractor will place an order for your solar systems. Once your solar systems arrive,
your contractor will notify you and schedule an appointment to install the solar systems.
4. Installing the solar system - When the installer comes to install your solar systems, first the installer
will perform a roof check, to see that all shingles and tiles are in place. Then, the installer will connect
your solar systems to the the electrical system. Later, your installer will put racking, which holds the solar
panels. Then finally, the installer will place the solar panels.
5. Get your solar system approved and connected - Once everything is installed, you will need a PTO (permission to
operate), and a government representative will come and check your system and see that everything is in place. In
addition, you will need someone from your utility company to come and connect your systems to the electrical
grid, and then at last, your solar systems are fully installed and ready for use.
